Dr. Amanthi Demuth, BSc, DC, CFMP

Dr. Amanthi Demuth is the esteemed founder of Demuth Spinal Care & Concussion Center and the author of "Game Changer - The Secrets to Living Your Best Life After a Concussion.” Originating from Colombo, Sri Lanka, Dr. Demuth pursued higher education in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine from Iowa State University and a Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. She is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and is currently enrolled in Post Graduate Medical Education at Harvard Medical School.

During her time at Palmer, Dr. Demuth was honored with the prestigious Vogt Leadership Society Scholarship and recognized by her peers and staff for her exemplary leadership skills. She served as a Business Ambassador at the Palmer Center for Business Development, Vice President of the Student American Chiropractic Association, and an International Student Ambassador.

Dr. Demuth's diverse medical training includes internships at Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, Desoyza Hospital for Women, and the Public Health Department of the Colombo Municipal Council in Sri Lanka. Her passion for upper cervical chiropractic care led her to intern at Brooks Spinal Care in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and to practice in Rochester, MN, and Waite Park, MN, where she served thousands of patients with concussion recovery, headaches, migraines, neck pain, and wellness care.

Active in her community, Dr. Demuth is a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Sartell, MN, and has engaged extensively with other healthcare providers and small businesses through Business Networking International and the American Business Women’s Alliance.

Dr. Demuth is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and Certified in the Chiropractic Webster Technique for Prenatal and Postnatal care. She is a scholar at the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies with a specialization in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and is currently enrolled in the Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School, Post Graduate Medical Education. As a TBI expert, Dr. Demuth is dedicated to helping individuals with concussions, brain injuries, headaches, dizziness, migraines, and whiplash syndrome.

Dr. Demuth is married to Nicholas Demuth II from Cold Spring, MN, and together they have a son, Nicholas John Demuth III.

 

Mea Wanna, Community Engagement Director

Melissa Wanna is from Sartell, MN. She attended Saint Cloud Technical College for her Associates in Advertising and has worked in the financial and communications industry for over 13 years. Mea holds a strong passion to help those who struggle with TBI, Post Concussion Syndrome, Chronic pain and Injury. As a survivor of a Traumatic Brain Injury, and someone who has lived with Post Concussion Syndrome, her 10 plus years of personal experience and education, give her a unique, in-depth understanding of the challenges associated with concussions, tramatic injuries, TBI and chronic pain. She has used this experience to enlighten others through speaking events and was the Key Note speaker for the 2019 Celebration of Abilities. Mea is passionate about serving her community and using the skills and knowledge she has developed, to create awareness surrounding Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Mea chose DSCCC because she believes in the importance of upper cervical care and feels a positive environment is conducive to health and wellness. She looks forward to connecting with the patients everyday and loves to see the "smile on their faces when they speak of the relief and healing Dr. Demuth has delivered them."

In her free time, Mea likes to get out into the community and sing. She has preformed in multiple, local musical groups and has recorded a few radio jingles. Mea loves the opportunity to meet and connect with new people at every show. She believes music is a vital component to one's overall feeling of well-being and can be a great asset to our health and wellness. Mea spends much of her free time with her family, friends and neighbors. Whether it's playing games, spending time outdoors, traveling or venturing out into the community, Mea values every moment spent with her loved ones.
